Joe Rhem founded Star2Star Communications in his garage in late 2004, and was joined by Norm Worthington in 2005 and Kris Kielhofner in 2006. Star2Star now has over 300 employees throughout the United States. Joe ran sales and distribution for the company from December 2004 to October 2015 — in that time the company received 2 consecutive INC 500 awards followed by 3 additional INC 5000 awards, Forbes most Promising Companies in the World, Deloitte’s Fast Tech 50 as well as multiple awards and recognition from organizations like the Gartner Group and Frost and Sullivan. With over 210,000 users, Star2Star is the 7th largest UCaaS vendor in the United States, according to Infonetics Research.
Joe has innovated several new technologies and founded many successful high tech firms in his career. Prior to Star2Star, Mr. Rhem held the position of Global Principal Architect for Wireless Technologies at Computer Associates (CA), the world’s 4th largest software company. Joe also managed the integration of the WalMart supply chain to run over the Internet. In 2003, he co-founded Highwall Technologies and patented the long range wireless security sensor known as the Highwall Sentinel. In 2001, Joe co-founded Voyage Data Corporation, a successful wireless platform application development firm.
